International Performances

Korea

July 13, 2019 In DMZ, KOREA - Camp Greaves at the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), NCC performance with the Lindenbaun Festival Orchestra, Lindenbaum Music Festival (broadcast on Korean TV)

Abigail and the National Children's Chorus of the United States joined the Lindenbaum Festival Orchestra in Korea at the demilitarized zone (DMZ) to promote a message a harmony and unity.

The event was the culmination of a two-year project that required international meetings, as well as government approvals in order to gain special access to the restricted area within the DMZ where the music was to take place. Mr. Hyung Joon Won, Artistic Director of the Lindenbaum Festival Orchestra, has long envisioned a world where music brings people together in a setting that focuses on unity and humanity, dissolving the sense of conflict. When he learned of the NCC’s similar mission of building bridges through music, he was immediately inspired to create a landmark collaboration in Korea this year. The result was nothing short of impactful and life-changing for both performers and audience members, including mayors from neighboring Korean towns, dignitaries and humanitarians from around the world.
